HP sounds a bit more amplike to me than LP and seems to clean up a little better also. That said, LP may be a little sweeter sounding. I find myself using both, but probably HP that much more.

Mines new to me...just got it a few weeks ago, and am LOVING it.

That said, playing a strat, I find I like both...but NOT at the same settings. The LP sounds a little less gainy, slightly darker to me. I am running mine at 9 vdc (this probably should be part of the question, since it most likely changes things a lot for folks running higher voltage?) and have used it so far in a Soldano SLO-100, Fuchs TDS (haven't thought of really using it in those amps as both of them have fantastic OD channels anyway...but just to hear...and I A/B'ed the OCD with the Soldano best OD I know sound, using OCD in clean channel, compared to SLO OD and damn...the OCD held it's own. I was surprised!), then last night in a Fender DRII, and it sounds great in all circumstances. No muss or fuss.

I hadn't been crazy about Fulltone stuff (I like my Mini-deja-vibe, but it is my least fav of my vibes, and other pedals I had tried didn't do it for me) but I am solidly in awe of the OCD.

HP is like a Plexi and LP is like a JTM-45.

Wow! I have only been running mine at 9V. What do I gain by bumping up the voltage into the unit?

I like both settings but use the HP a lot more often.

I also prefer to run at 18v. At 9v the LP setting is really lame - you need to up the voltage to bring that setting to life.

Depends on what tone I'm going for. HP for the more Marshally tones, LP for the lower gain, more natural break-up tones. Best OD pedal ever IMHO. We're talkin' Version 1 here into a Matchless Clubman.

I use HP all the time on my v.3. I have not run it more than 9v as of yet though. That in itself would be a great correlative poll to this one.

I agree with most of this.

at a higher voltage the pedal seemed more amp like/ articulate - tight and less buzzy. fwiw - I had a V2 until recently and I might buy a V4 someday. Right now though i'm using a bsiab II and I it does fine but the OCD was pretty awesome through the right amp.

LP. 18v. I use it set mildly to boost an already hot amp into screaming amp territory.

If we're talking a cleaner amp I'd choose HP as I feel this mode punches harder.

hmm.. how do you use the OCD with 18v?
