Florida Sam it was suggested to me on another thread in this forum to change .1uf cap w/ in the upper left hand corner of the circuit board to a .068uf cap in order to reduce the bass response. If I`m understanding this correctly, is that the output cap you have labeled in your photo? Thanks!

Nope, The output cap is the 1uf tantalum. It was originally 2.2uf. The .068 film cap is the input cap I believe, formerly a .1uf. You could also try .047 uf here as the .068 isn't readily available at your local radio shack.

There's a pdf on fulltones website that describes the differences between the first 3 versions. Basically there were some changes made to a couple capacitor values and the gain pot. Version 4 is unofficial and the differences are listed in the pic above. Most of the mods have been taken directly from mods that have been performed by OCD owners right here on TGP.

Originally Fuller himself was quoted as saying version 4 (written in sharpie on more than a few pedals starting in august around serial # 14000) was a joke played by some of the employees who actually build the pedals.

The pic above tends to disprove that claim. HOWEVER there is the possibilty that the pedal above was only a ONE OFF. I would be interested to hear from some other people who have a new pedal that can verify that these changes are now standard.

Ok, Here's an internal pic of my Ver 4 SN: 14313 from August 2007. The pic I posted above of the supposed V4 does not look the same as mine.

I do not have the "tuning cap" or the germanium diode. The Tantulam cap is different too. The ceraminc caps in mine are the 220 not 330.

Interesting

Like I said before, the pic in my previous post was a supposed V4. The pic in this post is from my OCD clearly marked Rev 4. Maybe the one above is Rev 4.01??????????

:munch

The plot thickens. We now have two pedals from the same time period with different guts. I'm leaning towards the "one off" theory at this point especially since Fulltone does NOT acknowledge a V4. The pedal pic posted earlier in this thread seems to be one of a kind unless we see some corroboration.

The sad part is that the mods seen in this pedal are improvements IMO. Less bass, more mids, smoother treble and asymmetrical clipping.

My is even younger, built in October 2007 (SN: ~15600) and there is also no germanium diode and no tuning cap
I don't know what to think :(

Okay I`m confused which cap do I replace to lower the bass respose ( especially when I turn the drive past 2 o`clock) . I tried to buy some caps at Radio Shack , but not much luck! Thanks in advance, jads57

Hey Floridasam, I`m still confused about the capacitor ( Tantelum? ) change. Where can you get different value caps other than Radio Shack? Thanks!
