    Hi all,

OK, so I have a decent line up of pedals for the music I play.
Some botique, some not, but they all get the job done.
Now, I am on the hunt for the missing pedal.
I have my OD/DIST covered, my fuzz, vibe, phaser, wah, chorus/echo all set.
Since I play alot of JIMI I think I am missing just one.
I think I need a Fulltone Octafuzz, or the equivelant.
Can any of you octafuzz users shoot me an opinion on that pedal, let me know how you like it, and just how often you really use it?
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Mass

Get the Chicago Iron Octavian and call it a day.

Some say the Tycobrae is what Jimi used, but I find the Roger Meyer spaceship Octavia comes closer to nailing the Band 'O Gypsies Octavia tone. It's very steel drum like.

I thought it was Iomi that used the Tycobra.

+1 Check out the history lesson at the Chicago Iron website. Hendrix played the Mayer Octavio. When it died it was given to Tycobrahe to repair. Evidently, it never was returned and later, Tycobrahe released an effect very similar to Mayer's Octavio. Then, Mayer released the design he did for Hendrix as a pedal available to the public.
SRV played the later Tycobrahe version.

along those lines..kenny wayne shepherd's song 'blue on black' or somthing another has a nice octave/fuzz effect on it..dont know what kind but it is pretty smooth sounding compared to the octafuzz
