Daaaaaaamn, these look amazing! I like both the LP and SG (gloss gold) versions. Especially great new tapped HB and humcancelled p90 and minitune. At 1049 these seem like a great deal. OK, so no case.

Anyone have one yet? Major GAS.

Saw one in a catalog
didn't really look close, but a Coil tapped HB and a P90 would be pretty cool
But I don't need another SG.

I like the versatility of these and wouldn't mind trying one out. If they made this in the Traditional Pro or Plus with binding, and without Mini tune I would be sold. There's a Traditional Pro at a store nearby in ebony with P90's. If it had a 57 classic in the bridge and a P90 in the neck I would buy it today.

How is the minetune a dealbreaker? You guys really enjoy tuning your guitar that much? Like carrying around a tuner too? It's worth at least $150 more to me. Sides that, their ads are a hoot, especially the one with the guy serenading his hot gf, without etune and with. Freaking hilarious! I think Gibson should just put this on all their guitars and be done with it. You guys would bitch till you bought your first, then bitching over. As it is, there are too many choices. How many LP's do we need? When I was growing up there were 3 or 4, the Custom being the most $$$. Now? 15? Maybe they should just resort to being another Carvin? Then, noone could complain.

It is ridiculous how many LP models there are! I dont know how people keep track of them all and know their values in order.

The Les Paul Standard comes in unleaded, plus and premium. probably be a diesel soon

Are you kidding. This is the board where people verbally fight over how precise they need a guitar tuner for a live show. There are things about this board that are quite entertaining.

I just got back from a stop to my local GC where they had the Futura in the "Brilliant Red" finish. Looks better in person than in photos. This one was surprisingly heavy, since it has the "modern weight relief," I was expecting it to be a little bit lighter.

Being in a GC, the minEtune came in handy for quickly getting it up to pitch. New strings though and obviously not stretched out, since it went out of tune after a few bends. But I stretched 'em out and refunded. No pinging during tuning (minE and manual) so the nut seems well cut.

Setup was pretty good, fret ends are all nicely done and action was fairly low. I don't like the new grippy speed knobs, they look crappy to me. Just a personal thing, I'm sure some will love them. The 120th Anniversary inlay is really subtle. I actually didn't even notice it at first (it stands out more on the dot inlayed guitars).

The Sidewinder P90 and bridge bucker are both splittable since the Sidewinder is a bucker too, though splitting it drops the volume quite significantly. When using it "un-split" it reminded me of an underwound P90, and in fact was clearer sounding than some neck position Gibson P90's I've had in the past. I'd like to see what's under the cover and what kind of magnets they use. Wondering if it's like Lindy Fralin's hum-cancelling P90 design (which was itself inspired by Gibson's original Sidewinder bass pickup).

Played it through a Fender Super-Sonic 22, both clean and drive channels - and it sounded pretty good. Like I said, splitting the neck pickup is a big drop in volume, less so with the neck pickup. I suppose I should've just kicked in the 15dB boost!

Personally, I could do without all the coil splits and boosts. The minEtune doesn't bother me like it does with some people. I'm perfectly capable of tuning my own guitar, but I can see definitely see the appeal if you use a lot of alt tunings and only have one guitar. It also weighs less than a set of Grovers! If you like the feature set, I'd say it's worth tracking one down to check out.

I wouldn't mind one LP with MinEtune, but what I really want, is for Gibson to come up with a mini computer built in, that will play my guitar for me, so I can practice my Oh! face while running around on stage. Now that, seems very practical for today's guitarist.

Im good with regular tuners, if you have good quality gears, and an ear worth anything, its not a big deal.
