    HI all,

    Just need an opinion.
Which is generally preffered? OD after or before fuzz in chain?
Currently I am using fuzz before the OD.
    Just getting some thoughts.
    Take care,

Try out both ways and see what sounds better to your ears, and the feel of the pedals. If you spend some time with it you'll soon decide what you prefer.

    Mine

Wah -> Fuzz -> comp -> OD/Dis-> then the rest.

That's my set up right now, and I think it what I like best...maybe it is the pedals I am using.

Ultra stupid question from a dyslexic over here:

When you go like this > which direction is the guitar? which the amp?

    Guitar>pedal>amp?

When people say a pedal is 'before' or 'first'- does that mean first right after the guitar or after the amp?

Right, guitar>pedal>amp. With "1st" being right after the guitar.

Going back to the original question, you're talking about stacking (or what I call cascading) pedals, right? Perhaps this question is more of what pedals can do this with when both on???

I have a Frantone Brooklyn, which is half OD and half fuzz, but very transparent. I can "stack" it with a Keeley SEM DS-1 before it with great results, although with a good amount of compression as a side effect. The Brooklyn is very bright, though, which I think allows this to sound good. Just my 2 cents.

I'm one of the few that puts my fuzz after od...I like it that way. Just a reminder that there are no "rules".

Some vintage fuzzes have sustain problems, not enough drive and/or sound weak alone. My Kay Fuzz Tone is one of them. Putting a mild overdrive in front of the unit solves this problem.
