    Hey guys

So my place was recently broken into :mob and my lovely Twosome was stolen. Major bummer.

So I am looking for a replacement. The issue is, although I loved the Twosome, I don't know that much about fuzzes.

What would prime examples of Fuzz Faces, Muffs and the other major types of fuzzes be?

At the moment I am considering getting a Musket or a Black Arts Pharaoh. I know they're not similar, but I do like both of them. I typically end up using a mild amount of fuzz, so I like how the Pharaoh sounds on the low end spectrum of things. I never really had the pre and fuzz on the Musket much higher than 9 o clock.

Hugely influenced by Raconteurs, Smashing Pumpkins, St Vincent. Any recommendations?

    Thanks
    Mike

I would highly recommend looking into the new Analogman Astro Tone. It is SI unique and cool. Do a Search here. The Asto is getting alot of good reviews.

For the Smashing Pumpkin thing you will need something with ALOT of gain!!! Not quite so much for the other bands.

A good FUzz face would probably cover all your areas pretty well.

If you like the muff sound but usually run the fuzz lower gain, check out a Hoof.

If this is your first fuzz, the Skreddy Lunar module is a nice start.

For Smashing Pumpkins, you'll want a Big Muff.

Take a look also at MXR Classic 108 Fuzz. I have it and Pharaoh too, and I like both so much.

On a side note, has anyone used a Kalamazoo or LTD in front of their Pharaoh?

Why not get another Twosome, it's a killer pedal, nothing "better" out there. Of course if you get into the best individual styles of fuzz, you're going to be spending a lot more money:

    1. Big Muff: Skreddy, Wren and Cuff, Blackout, EQD
    2. FF: Analogman, Fuller
    3. Tonebender: Jimmy Behan, Skinpimp, Williams etc.

Dr Bob! Thanks a bunch! That's exactly what I wanted.

I'm thinking of getting a Pharaoh, Musket and Kalamazoo along with my LTD.
