I just received my new Orange Rockerverb 50 mkII, and i spent the afternoon tweaking it. So far so good, but when I ran my pedal chain through the fx loop my Carbon Copy delay was acting strange. It wouldn't perform like normal.
It would store the signal and then slowly release until it got gradually louder sounding like an airplane taking off.
I ran the pedal board via the input jack and everything sounded normal.
I don't have a lot of experience with fx loops so I'm not sure if it's the nature of certain pedals or if something is wrong with the fx loop
I plan to call Orange in Atlanta tomorrow, but if anyone has any imput about this I'd gladly appreciate it
    Thanks

what all is the "pedal chain" you're running into the loop?

delays, reverbs and volume boosts work well there, but overdrives, fuzzes and wahs belong out front.

3 mxr pedals Carbon Copy, Bass Octaver, and Phase 90 in that order.

try the octaver and phase 90 back out front, and just put the carbon copy in the loop.

Not familiar with Orange amps in particular but loops can be tricky. Is there a send and return control for the loop? or a mix control? Either way the CC delay should be last before connecting to the return. Go from Send to Phase/Octave/Delay then Return. I'm also thinking if the Octaver has fuzz mixed with the effect signal it doesn't belong in the loop and belongs in the front end of the amp. Hope this helps

Cool, thanks guys I'll do some switching around. Yes it's a send and return type, no mix control.
The octaver (MXR M288 Bass Octave Deluxe)is actually made for bass, and as far as I know has no fuzz circuit. Although a lot of MXR stuff has a "boost" to it.

I had the TH30 which has the loop from the RV Mk II and it was great. Just plug in your delay/verb etc and it just worked.

If you have say a single slapback at the front of the amp and then plug the delay into the loop, you still should have the same...though probably more noticable so you could dial the mix back a bit on the FX pedal.

If it's doing some 'different' than this...houston, we have a problem...

Problem Solved! Thanks guys, I first ran the CC alone, it worked fine. Then I ran it at the end of the chain and it worked like it's supposed to.
You guys saved me an embarrassing call to Orange!

sounds like it might be a cool effect if it could be controlled

glad you fixed it but i don't understand why running it first would be a problem thru the loop but ok out front.
