I love Gilbert soooo much but Satch's tone really gave me chills there. Great clip- thanks for posting. I wish there was more footage of this tour floating around out there. That was great.

Gilbert certainly can play, but...headphones?? Or is that hearing protection? Either way, that is not how to look onstage!

Hoping I do not offend any of the faithful, this is my favorite G3 video:

    It's hearing protection.

That was tremendous, thanks for posting. I saw that tour, and Satriani just seemed overjoyed at playing with John & Paul. I think those two brought Joe VERY close to what he originally envisioned the whole G3 thing to be about. Great chemisty, no egos, supreme playing. And the best playing I heard that night was from Bruce Bouillet, in Gilbert's band. Mind-boggling chops, and TOTAL conviction in everything he played. Guy was on fire.

    Yowza!!!!
    That was nice.
All 3 seemed to be listening to the other guys.
That's how a jam should be.
And some more "props" for Bruce Bouillet; I was
lucky enough to see him twice with Racer X and
once with The Scream(in Austin Tx.), all three times
he was just killing!! Especially with The Scream.
Tone, chops & attitude for days!!!

    Loved it ...

The guy I enjoyed the most tone & motif wise was Petrucci ...
& am kinda shocked about that ...

Showed me if hearing him outside of Dream Theater
his playing would please me much more then hearing JP within their dramatic context ...

    Thanks for posting ... what a fun watch/listen ....
Mu-cho respect to all three players

Pablo always gives me chills. You CAN play a million notes with deep emotion, proof positive.

I agree with you regarding Petrucci. This 90's version of Petrucci is still my favourite, love that Ibanez he used to play.

The three of them form a great team and like everyone said, they are listening to each other as well which makes it even more awesome.

The current lineup of G3 with Steve Lukather is pretty cool.
