Ugh, Kretz. The backbeat drops in the verses?

    Sounded good, nonetheless!

Yeah, I was missing that, too. The snare on 2 and 4 in the verses just doesn't groove right in that song.

That's the way Gary likes playing it these days. Check out any other live video and it's the same.

Well. Well! You tell Mr. Wright that if he wants his song played correctly, call crestarun from The Gear Page. He and McKayla Maroney (quite rightfully not impressed) will step to the stage and drop that 2 proper-like. I mean, really, that's just about the most famous dropped beat of all time. You know you were waiting for it! "Kretz, damn it," I said to myself in hopeful anticipation of the first verse, "if you drop that 2 like it's supposed to be dropped, I'll have to reconsider my opinion of you as the luckiest pedestrian rock drummer of the modern day." But as the moment arrived – the space in which nothing happening is infinitely more important than something happening – *flump*, that snare drum was hit, like in every other song in every other universe with a pedestrian rock backbeat. I guess the blame must fall on Wright himself – almost everyone loses their cool in their advanced years... except Prince, of course, who shuffled off this mortal coil in platform heels playing Let's Go Crazy in half time, making it even crazier.
