Anyone here using one? I'm buying another amp and I want a case for it. I have a road case for my other amp, but I'm not sure I need that much protection. I like the idea of an amp in a case for a couple of reasons. 1) a case with casters is a great platform to stack guitar and pedal board cases on to roll gear around in one trip. 2) if things should move around in the back of my SUV I shouldn't have to worry about something puncturing my grill cloth and ultimately my speaker. 3) I'm less likely to scuff my amps up.

I think that a nice padded cover can offer some of these options, but I'd rather have a hard case. E-bay has some cheap cases made of thin wood (which is actually what my other amp is in), but I don't know that I need that much. They are in this price range, but I thought this could be a nice little case. I just want to make sure that they aren't cracking and busting during moderate use. They are only $99, which is about as good of a price as you can get on amp cases.

It all depends on the amp. If you have a high dollar boutique amp a true ATA 300 Cat 1 spec case is the logical choice. If your amp is not of the high dollar boutique variety then I'd go with one of the less expensive road cases you find on eBay. Remember, most road case builders do not build cases to the true ATA 300 Cat 1 spec. True ATA 300 Cat 1 spec cases are expensive but if you have nice gear invest in real ATA cases.

no high dollar amps, and I don't care about true ata specs. I just need something fairly protective and I would like to hear from people who have experience with the gator amp case.

This is an old thread, but in case anyone is wondering, here's some info. I bought the case (back in '10). It was ok. Better than carrying it around with nothing or a cheaper padded cover. Nice to have a case with wheels, so then you can throw your other gear in top and use it like a dolly. However, I didn't Keep the amp I bought to use with it, so I didn't keep the case long either, so I can't speak to durability. Should also note that there is no padding, so you will need to add some if the amp doesn't fit snug.
