Not "participating" means not kicking in part of the discount off the price they sell their stuff to GC for. GC can still apply the entire offer out of their own pocket if they choose. In fact, there's not a salesperson in any GC that will stop you from buying a new Les Paul because he won't give you the 15% off.

I have used them a few times on gear that was listed,if you go there often and know a few of the sales people it's fine. Not sure how it would work using them online.
I'm lucky most of the salespeople at the GC here are very helpful and nice to.

Not the last couple times I tried in LA, I stopped going because the last few times I was there, the salespeople and even a manager seemed to think they were too good for their jobs to waste time talking with customers.

I find them to be king of mediocrity in the instrument world. Sorry, but I can't stand that chain.

The GC's in south Florida are pretty good about doing what they can to get me the coupons on these excluded manufacturers. I think it just depends on the store, the sales manager and how often they see you at the counter, truth be told.

I've done fairly well at my local GC in Tacoma. I know most of the sales guys and the Mgr is actually pretty cool.

i used that coupon that says dbx opted out on a driverack this week- worked fine.

the bummer is that because of the exclusions list i couldn't get musiciansfriend to beat the deal and wound up paying tax because i needed it in a hurry.
