Sending my Lightning clone to Ben Fargen for VOS mods, grab a used Kingsley D30, order a cabinet from or two from Mather cabinets, and finally send funds to Nik for his lovely JTM45 clone.....

AND buy NO OD pedals in 2010....:rolleyes:

To buy as little as possible. I've spent too much time chasing various tones to no end other than to try them out. I need to get into the "more Mel Bay, less eBay" mindset.
Of course, I really want to try a Dr. Z Maz 18...

Mike D,

I intend to do that with pedals, but I have a couple of amps to run through as well. If I had spent the money this year on amps instead of pedals...:facepalm

Goals for 2010:

1) Stop the bloody madness and don't buy any more stuff
2) Get rid of stuff I rarely play and don't really need
3) Play the heck out of the stuff I have.

Oh yeah, and:

4) Get both amps fixed so they work flawlessly.

Get the most out of the gear I already have and improve my playing. Less distractions by GAS. I also want to learn how to record clips.

From the trunk of my groovy flying car, I will pull:
- An amp that weighs 2 pounds & sounds like a full stack, except that it will sounds just the way I want at any volume. It will have amazing dispersion, too;
- A guitar that plays & sounds great, is nearly indestructible, stays in tune at all times, and has some sort of glowing neck so I can see it on dark stages;
- A pedalboard that is small, lightweight, allows me to do anything I want, beerproof, and is so inexpensive I won't worry about losing it; and,
- This will all be 100% wireless. I hate running those cables, too!

Maybe by 2011...

i have a crapload of random bits of gear that were too much of a pain to unload here and there. this year i think i'll root through the closet, drag em out, and sell em just to make space. whatever cash comes out of that, i'll get a Treble Booster, maybe a Beano Boost.

  • I feel like I gotta build either a JCM800 or a Jubilee this year coming.
  • Gonna have to build a 2x12 bottom. 4x12 is just too much to handle.
  • Gonna have to do some recording, so I have someone to play with <grin>
  • Other than all that, I just gotta spend more time on the guitar playing it, rather than thinking about it.

Pick up ONE of the following: Fender Deluxe Reverb, Super Reverb, Vibroverb, Dr. Z Carmen Ghia 2x10 combo, Dr. Z Maz 18 Jr
Pick up AT LEAST one of the following: Plush Cream, Fulltone Catalyst, Pro Co Whiteface Rat Reissue, Way Huge Aqua Puss Reissue

I'm almost there with amps, and I am there with guitar amps (Blues Jr NOS, Jazzmaster Ultralight, Band-Master VM/Weber California Ceramic 15 for different material/venues/guitars). My Hartke HA2500/210TP/115TP will be replaced with a Mesa-Boogie Walkabout Scout, once I sell my Les Paul.

Guitars are covered, but I'll get rid of the Samick L5CES copy I was given last Spring, and I hope to trade my Dobro for one with a more suitable sound for my dotage (bought the one I have in '85).

I got the bass of my dreams in November: a Fender American Vintage '57 P. It joins a '51 reissue and a fretless P for as much bass as I can reasonably say grace over (although, wuncha know, just checked out the American Standard Precision V).

My mini-PA will come together (Alesis Studio 12R mixer and Carvin DCM1000 amp in a small rack -- a Lexicon reverb will arrive this week). I only pull it out in emergencies, hook it up to a pair of Peaveys on stands.

My recording gear is as complete as its gonna get (Korg d888 for live recording, Adobe Audition for mixing/processing, ribbon, large diaphragm and small diaphragm mics, control surface, a pair of digital mixers, lots of preamps and converters and all such as that, M-Audio monitors).

Got everything but talent.
