george jones is a god to me
It does not get better than this. They both sound so damn good (particularly when she comes in around 2:25):
He also sounds good with Keith Richards on this album.
Bartender Blues is my favorite George Jones song. His voice makes the hair on my arm stand up when I hear that one.
When Elvis Costello covered Good Year for the Roses, it really brought home to me how universal George Jones's songs were; they're country with a capital C, but they're also so much more than that. I can think of few other country songs that a British "new wave" artist could have better done justice to.
Trivia: What famous 50's rock star wrote George Jones' first hit record?
The King of Blanco Soul...
Its one of his best ones. And this version with Trisha Yearwood is, IMO, the best version of it. She helped him reach back and tap into the heart of what he does, IMO.
some crew cut era George
His style reminds me a lot of Buck Owens.
