Searched and found some info, but thought it might be helpful to have a single thread on the topic.

Here are some finisher options I'm aware of (growing list!)

    http://www.mjtelecaster.com/
    http://www.guitarmill.com/
    http://musikraft.3dcartstores.com/
    http://www.southboundcustom.com/
    http://www.rsguitarworks.net/cms/
    http://www.rocknrollrelics.net/index2.html
    http://gmvintagerestorations.com/
    http://www.bigtexguitars.net/
    www.ricecustomguitars.com
    www.orionguitarfinishing.com
    http://www.nakedbodyguitars.com/

Any others to add to the list?

And, any recommendations for best bang-for the-buck? Seems $200 is rock-bottom, up from there to around $450.

    Thanks.

Big Tex here in Houston does pretty good... Google "Big Tex Guitars" to find their website... I think they've posted here on TGP a few times as well.

My preference is DIY, check out the Reranch products and website...

I'll vouch for Mario @ Guitar Mill.
I've liked the two bodies they've done for me, for a reasonable price and time.

see my Esquire post for a pic of my gold finish

I also have a Mary Kaye blue body for my next project -- very pretty.
Let me know if you want a pic

    +1

Mario finished a sonic blue ash tele and a pine tele in natural for me. Very nice work at a reasonable price.

I just got a Tele finished in vintage amber by Brian Jamerson at Orion Guitar Finishing (www.orionguitarfinishing.com). It looks very butterscotch like, but is translucent and shows all the grain, though the lightweight body is very lightly figured. The body was by Musikraft, which is owned by Brian's brother.

A very nice job. I'll post a picture as soon I take it.

    Thanks guys...

Didn't think about the Rice guys just doing a body, good call.

And that Orion stuff looks great...bought a body from him on ebay a while back.

I've added these to the "master list" above...and also found Naked Body Guitars".

A big plug for MJTELE. Mark does great work, is super fast, and very nice price as well. Cannot go wrong!

Stephen Fazio @ Southbound Custom gets a nod from me-great nitro work, correct colors, right shades-another good one I know is John Scott-he posts here-used to work with Stephen, but has his own shop now. PM me if you want to call John-I can give you his ph# if you like.

I'll stick myself out there as well ( see my Jazzmaster build for the MOST recent - lots of other pics on request )

A basic Nitro Refin is $250 for an unfinished body ( relic process is included if you want it )
