Giant Steps - the unshredded version

    I could not resist after Frank brought back GS. I once played this really slow with octaves on the L5. It was surprisingly melodic and easy (played slooooooow!) LOL

    Anway, here's GS at a less than stellar tempo! :)

    Amazing how the tune changes at that tempo! Reminded me of "I Remember Wes" by George Benson. Do you know that one??

    Thanks Scott. It is a richly harmonic tune when you slow it down. Funny huh? At regular speeds you hardly notice what can be done with the changes.

    I think I've heard "I Remember Wes" a long time ago but would have to hear it again to familiarize myself. I've never played it if that's what you mean. That L5 sure gets the Wes tone! I don't play octaves with a pick or the thumb. I use a wierd technique which is the outside of the third finger (a) which for some reason on my hands sounds the best when striking octaves.
