Looking for Mahogany tone and Im between a Gibson Les Paul studio and an Ibanez S5221Q (fixed bridge) Prestige. I know they may be different, but I wonder of the Ibanez can produce the mahogany tone typical of these guitars considering is quite thin.
No store near me has it (or a similar model), so I can't really try it.

Years ago, I had an Ibanez RG Prestige with the mahogany/maple combo and sounded awesome... really good. BUT, it had a full body (was quite heavy).

Thank you in advance for the feedback

I have a few Ibanez guitars with mahogany bodies (some with bent maple tops). They do not sound like a Les Paul. But I do like the way they sound.

With the right pickups and the tone rolled back, you can get close but the Ibanez will emphasize the mids/highs and pickup choice is crucial. Longer scale, less mass, go for a dark pickup.
