Many, many, many. If you notice, there are ALOT of 2008 models on the used market. The tend to have nice tops but their other specs do nothing for me. As you said, it's always worth trying to find the gem in the lot.

Also at that price, even if it needs the regular Gibson stuff (nut, fret level, fret ends, setup) it's still a steal.

    Brother it's all good.

I'm cool with any comments either way.

We all don't all like the same guitars.

I love buying guitars and I'm proud to show them

Got to have an outlet for it somewhere.

When I show my wife my killer deals, she's not impressed in the least.

She doesn't get it and that's fine.

I think of TGP as a support group for guitar buying addicts.

Where else can you go to show guitars you buy that others will totally understand where you're coming from.

OP, I've seen a lot of Les Pauls and owned a few, but that might just be the best-looking L.P. I've ever laid eyes on. I see the perfect balance of bright and dark, blingy and subdued... man, I'm waxing poetic.

    I'll be in my bunk.

Please continue showing the guitars you buy! I like looking at guitars as much as anyone.

    Just don't like those 2008 Gibby models :D :D :D

Honestly, I'm jealous you get all these good deals in your neck of the woods. Pawn shops around here have literally nothing of any interest.

Found this on an image search, know nothing about it, but it's one of the most beautiful Les Pauls I've ever seen! ABR and stop look vintage and so do the plastics. Refin? Relic? Dunno...No headstock shot, but it's HAWT! Had to share.

I’m thinking refin. Look at how dark the flames are. That looks to me like a technique used by PRS, but not Gibson. You dye the wood purple or black, then sand. The color only stays in the grain. Then you dye the top (or spray toner). This gets a ton of contrast, but causes less of a 3D effect when the flame is seen from different angles. A trade off, but it can look amazing.

Plot twist: that isn't the OP; those pickups have haunted mids. No wonder it was so cheap.
