Used VOS sunbursts are a bargain IMO compared to the new street price.

Interestingly (?) my new ‘01 Historic cost barely more than current used VOS bursts.

I'm not exactly following the later model ('12 and newer) references to "VOS models". If that is a reference to reissues, then I understand and get it. I've just not heard of reissues being called "VOS models" before. "VOS" has morphed into a finish description, despite the origin of the acronym. Even by Gibson.

Here's the main problem, everybody has a different idea of what the ideal 335 or Les Paul,Strat,Teele should feel and sound like.
    I currently have 2016 Memphis Historic 1958 ES-335
That I feel is excellent. And before that I had a 1963 Memphis Historic ES-335 which was probably even better. You just need to see which of the different versions you like. And it might turn out to be none of them either.
