and nobody takes notice?
Gibson buys yet another irrelevant company. Yawn.
I hope Gibson got a sweet deal on it. MF/GC ran it into the ground.
Hasn't hc been pretty much dead for a few years now? Used to love the reviews on there.
Yes. And the announcement to revive it as a "neutral" platform for musicians doesn't sound very convincing.

I wonder if it wasn't in lieu of payment for inventory. Guitar center, MF, et all, biting it pretty much killed any notion of objectivity or neutrality. Gibson's owning it does not seem like it would help.
Definitely a deal for GC to unload an albatross while helping settle up on Gibson's Accounts Receivable tab for all the 0-fret, E-Tune guitars that have hung from GC walls since GC first took delivery, AKA the "WTF? Guitars".
That doesn't seem like it makes much sense for Gibson. I don't see any hope of it bouncing back anywhere near what it was. It's been irrelevant for years now.
Henry ? Myspace ?
Article points out that Gibson already owns over 100 well known brand names. The interview I heard by Gibson CEO a few weeks ago, he made it clear Gibson plans to have its hands in every facet of the music biz.
Why doesn't Gibson buy a company that makes more sense?
Excellent - now Henry J. can outsource his goofy new product design ideas to a Beavis and Butthead-led HC virtual committee.
Actually, that just might be an improvement for Gibson...
They probably paid damn near 4 figures for that gem.
"Nobody takes notice..." because Gibson is buying something that has been off the radar for quite awhile now....
I do recall that during the big HC shakeup a few years ago that
Craig Anderton left HC and went to Gibson.
Maybe he talked Gibson into it.
It's an interesting tidbit, but everyone left for various places years ago.
My new business plan is to write a passable music app for mobile platforms, hype it up and sell it to Gibson for millions.
I'm guessing Gibson employees just got a new job description: shill reviewers on Harmony Central.
