i'm not up on my GNR but I'm pretty positive that Slash's #1 is a Chris Derrig '59 burst copy...
I thought his #1 was that ugly mid 80s 3 piece top, norlin LP
They are probably talking about his #1 stage guitar. Its a late 80's 3 piece top LP.
Does someone know which guitar it actually is? I've seen plenty of videos of him but he plays several different Les Pauls a show.
So it's a replica of his guitar of TODAY, complete with aging?
This is it then if the above photo is right. Must be a Velvet Revolver/Snakepit thing. I've never seen him use it in any GNR live videos.
I believe its in the Sweet Child video.
How can you tell a Slash Sig from the 3081 other sigs that they make? Does it come with a tophat and a bottle of jack?
A rig & some syringes.
Yes that must be it- it comes with a 'kit'. That you can 'stash' in the case compartment.
Yeah, but how do you get through airport security!
Cool video. Do you happen to know what kind of axe the other guitar player is playing?
Yeah it's his old/main guitar from back in the day. In his book, he mentions when Gibson recently sent him the proto for this guitar and he thought it was HIS actual old guitar. He also said that it's still used for Fall to Pieces (as shown above) and another song or two I think.
Looks like a Les Paul Custom with EMG's of some kind, but its hard to tell.
It's a Fernandes Ravelle
I'm not real up on my Slash/GNR history, I assume that is Gilby Clarke? Also, who is the singer? Slash sounds like his old self. I have to admit the reason I never liked GNR because of the voice of Rose. I loved the guitar sounds.
Nah, Gilby is still doing the Rockstar Supernova thing (I think). That's Dave Kushner and Scott Weiland is singing
Here are some other cool behind the scenes gear vids:
Dave's tech, Craig Baker:
Slash's tech Adam Day:
No, its some guy Slash went to high school with. I don't know his name. The singer is the guy from Stone Temple Pilots. Scott Weiland maybe (spelling?). The drummer is from GNR in the early 90's, and the bassist is the original GNR bass player.
I love how he plugs his dunlop slash wah in the last video as if he'd ever use that thing on stage.
