I don't like SGs but that is a very pretty guitar.
That piece of maple is absolutely hideous.
It’s funny, I like SGs, but don’t like that guitar. Eye of the beholder I guess.
Looks like veneer. I hate veneer.
But despite its looks, I'm guessing that one's not though, and is more of a cap.
Is the diamond inlay and headstock binding a completely different color than the neck binding and inlay?
I'm getting bored with flamed maple, brown guitars. Honestly, like the Junior, one of the characteristics of the SG is that its lines and shapes create the beauty of the design, not cosmetics. Does everything have to look like antique furniture?
The maple looks pretty thick. Almost half the thickness of the body.
This particular maple and the finish don't look good to me.
Or dose everything have to be 1950's and 1960's specs and colors over and over?
I sort of liked it until I saw and heard his, Midnight in Harlem.
Honestly, I couldn't gift that to a friend.
I don't mind SGs with unusual colors, but most of the flame maple ones I have seen I didn't like. Particularly something close to a cherry sunburst. Perhaps I might not mind a blue, purple or green, but I'd have to see them. I dont think I would care for the sound of a maple capped SG though.
I dig it!
