Gibson extra-thins

An SG Standard is comfortable and so is an SG style melody maker, but that super-thin MM body is almost like a 'phantom guitar' - feels like there's nothing there but your hands and the strings. That's kind of a cool feeling. Would that really thin and flat shape work with other Gibson styles like a V or an Explorer or Firebird? If they kept the decorations to a minimum that could be a way to have a real affordable series.

I don't think the thickness of the wood used in the body/neck ultimately has a huge effect on the final price.
some would also argue that the thicker the better.
