Gibson Falcon on craigslist--$400 a fair price?

That's a '62, FWIW...

They are not bright amps in my fairly extensive experience with the '61-'65 models. The '61-'63s are the ones to get, IMO - so if that thing is electronically healthy then that's a decent price for one that clean with replaced knobs and speaker.

Mine is a 63. Crank it & ride the guitar volume. I have no issues with brightness & single coils.

I paid 400 for mine 2 months ago in original yet played condition. Love the reverb and vibrato. Comparable fenders =$$$$$$$$$$

Play it & decide if it's worth it to you.

Quite possibly the best sounding reverb and tremolo in an amp ever. Rich cleans and a killer mid-gain grind when you dime it. Less compressed than earlier tweeds so it will stay punchy at full up and with the oversized redwood cabs they have a huge resonance to them.

Anybody who has something bad to say about them is either going on hearsay or played one in desperate need of servicing.
