Are the Gibson Les Paul standard 2012 (trans Amber) good Les paul’s?
I’ve been looking around for a Gibson and saw one advertised locally recently. I know that there were a few dodgy years with different gizmos,
Don't buy into the laminated fretboard story. I imagine there might have been some, but everyone likes to assume that all 2012's had this.
I owned two different 2012 Les Paul Trad's and had the nuts replaced on both (bone) I asked the luthier to check-out the fretboard and told him about the "Laminated fretboard" story that was going around, and if they were to take photo's.
Neither one was a layered board.
Although the nut would have to be removed to validate it .
The guitar has the pickup splitting coil taps and Grover locking tuners, both of which I wasn’t after but the guitar is in mint condition at ok price and no local dealers are selling Gibson’s right now(not sure if this will change)
