Gibson LP dating

    My LP deluxe has a serial number that seems to fall in the murky area for dating purposes.Is there an offical gibson site to check this out.I think mine is a transitional year thus the confusion.Any particular experts out there? Help!!

    Thanks for your help...I'm awaiting activation on the LP forum as recommended.Mine has the volute but no "made in America",has the pancake body.I'll share the forum response when I get one.

    I used one of your links and got 1968 but somehow its not all consistent.The serial is 915843....still not activated yet.

    No '68's had a volute that I know of.
