I don't think they still make them, but there was a Les Paul Traditonal Pro P90 model. You may be able to pick one up used. They have a 50s neck, body and neck binding, satin finish back and gloss goldtop. I have one and love it.

Play the Epi '56 and see what you think.....gets great reviews. This, and the Bonamassa have my attention. If you're not set on a Gibson.

Could always look for a used deluxe with mini buckers and swap them for P90s

I found a 2002 Schecter Tempest Special with P-90s abused in a pawn shop in Florida.

In 2003 they made them in gold (page 3 right side):

Set neck, great sounding P-90s, overall quality very high. Paid $100 for her.

Spent about $60 on replacement parts for it and had a pro setup. She ROCKS!

I never think Schecter for P-90s but they have them! Here's mine:

This one is a prototype in black but they were released in gold & sunburst.

The 2003 Tempest Specials are carved tops. Later ones are flat tops.

    Worth a look for one.

Here is the option I took. http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=1521957 You might still be able to find one of these around. It really is a sweet guitar and it comes with a stop tail bridge in the case if you do not want the Bigsby. I am really enjoying the tones out of this guitar and although I usually do not like thin necks, the 60's neck on this one is really great.

    Very Respectfully,

    Jim Miller

A 1971 6th Edition so called '58 reissue (actually a '54 Reissue). Norlin era but no pancake, no volute, and small headstock. Just like a '54 with a stop tailpiece but does have a shallower top carve more typical of that era.Not too terribly expensive--got mine for $5k in NYC (after haggling) in original purple lined rectangular case. Great P-90 Goldtop guitar, vintage to boot, and probably not a heck of a lot more dough than a Custom Shop.
