    I took a look at the pix and my guess is that guitar broke in the case.

    On one hand it no longer has the tuning problems that go along with the atrocious Les Paul headstock design.

    Also...listed for 20 hours with 2 offers. I suppose that repaired it's worth at least $450 or so for that finish. If someone can do the repair themselves then he might not be super far off.

    I take it back. Looking at sold silverburst studios then can and do sell for $1000 and sometimes higher. I guess the finish is more desirable then I thought. $500 plus I guess is not crazy if the buyer could do the repair.
