Ahhh memories of my K-tel goofy greats album. Jim stafford was on there too I think. Ahab the Arab. Mule Skinner blues, Mr. Custer, Dirty Water, snoopy VS the red baron, Surfin bird? -

Actually those song were pretty formative of my early musical education - I must have been what? ten years old?

Ray Stevens always gave me a few tee-hees..my fave song by him was 'Ahab the Arab'
    Gitarzan..great stuff.

He went a little serious with 'Take care of Business Mr. Business Man'

Kinda an insightful, chastising, type of song...but cool.

Sittin' Up With the Dead, The Streak, Mississippi Squirrel Revival... and my wife and I always have to watch Santa Clause Is Watching You during Christmas time. Goofy and cheesy, but always reminds me of watching the VHS tape when I was younger and puts a smile on my face.

"Jane gets right, the monkey gets tight
and their voices unite in the pale moonlight".

I remember when it came out. His songs were always cool, funny, and catchy. I played it on YouTube a while back when all the kids were home. They had never heard it, but they cracked up.

Back in the 70's, our Dad had an 8 track of Ray Stevens' that we just about wore out when we were probably 7 or 8....those songs bring back some memories. Funny stuff!
