I'm sure others can do much more justice to it, but it sure is fun to play to! Played LP bridge to hbe germania (lo-fi) to phase 90 to PBJ delay (kicked on long delay mode here and there...) to amp to cab sim to board:

  9. Dave.

    Thanks for posting this.

I've been a long time lurker on the board... and decided it was time to start posting here a bit...

So here's a take on your backing track.
    Gonna Give It Away

I heard slide guitar and a vocal line... so that's what I did!

Thanks in advance for checking it out... and any comments. :D

Very nice composition, Dave! Some very nice takes by all, but Michael's version just took me totally by surprise. Superb vocals!!! (And the slide playing was tasty as hell.)

  11. Thanks a lot for your comments... I really appreciate it!

I like to play around with these sort of jams... and when I hear vocal parts... they tend to end up on the track. :D

I wish I had a better voice... but you do what you can, right?

If possible, I try to use the "name" of the backing track as the inspiration for my lyrics... and then go where the track takes me.

I've listened to a bunch of the takes here... I think it's gonna be fun to jam with all these talented players.

    I listened to tedm's and adlibmusic's takes:

tedm. Nice take. You got a distinctive tone with your setup... and you had some cool melodic ideas.

adlibmusic. I really liked your take. The guitar sound was recorded amd mixed very well, and your playing really grooved with the track. Nice job!

Thanks for the nice comments. I also really liked your take.

Great slide playing, and nice to hear some vocals. Great to hear some vocals too, at first it reminded me of Randy Newman, but after more listening it has a great unique quality to it. Great job!!

Whoa....that was great man. I really liked what you did with it.

Funny story here...i took the track out to a friend of mine whom i sometimes play music with to let him hear my latest effort and his first comment was " man, that song is just begging for some lyrics"...hehehe

Great stuff guys. It's a real honor to have people think enough of my music to play along to it.

    Thanks!
