    Guys-

I am looking for a pedal to get that killer EVH vibe. I've seen info on the following pedals:

    -Kaden Brown Creeper
    -GGG BSIAB2
    -CMATMods Brownie
    -Lovepedal Purple Plexi 800

I play a Gibson LP Classic with '57 pickups and Schecter Strat into a Fender SFDR.

Anyone have any recommendations and experiences?

    Thanks,
    Rich

The Brown creeper and the brownie ARE BSIAB circuits. The creeper is slightly less gainy than the standard BSIAB due to using 3 lower gain transistors.

I own a brownie and it IS VH in a box, even moreso when you stack it with the timmy.

A buddy o' mine came over last sat. for a bit of a gear fest and he brought the crunchbox v. 2 with him. Its got alot of gain, a fairly smooth texture and alot of midrange. Its a good lead pedal but I thought the Brownie/timmy stack ate it alive for convincing marshally tone through a fender deluxe and a heritage victory with a strat, tele and humbuckers.

The brownie lowend thumps and it has that elusive marshall upper midrange bite. The timmy brings the mids forward and sculpts the bass and treble to perfection. The decay is also more natural thane the crunchbox which still has that annoying fizzle on the decay (I had a v1 a couple years ago).

I'm not 100% sure but its seems possible that the pinnacle is a modified BSIAB circuit similar to the OKKO diablo.

Here's Indyguitarist's own description of some of his pedals from another post:

"the plextortion is a partial tweaked guv'nor clone, into a treble boost circuit, into a j201 gain stage.... Other than that, no clones really... j201 gain stages (plexidrive), pinnacle (mu-amp), ....."

The BSIAB is, technically speaking, 2 mu-amp stages cascaded. Just seems a little coincidental that that 2 pedals share the same building block and are both touted for EVH tones. I'd be more interested in the pinnacle if I found out it actually WAS a modded BSIAB because I think the circuit sounds so good and having more ways to tweak it would be fine by me.

Both the pinnacle and plextortion by indyguitarist would do well with EVH.

I have owned the CB v2, Plextortion, and the Brownie. For the EVH sound, I thought the Brownie was IT.
