I was disappointed with the Highway Star cover. Hughes vocals were way over the top for my taste. I much prefer him when he keeps the monster vocals in check and sings with some sort of subtlety. This is a great rock song featuring John Norum on guitar. Yes, John Norum from Europe/Final Countdown fame. He is a monster guitarist and very much underrated.

I still don't know why they named this one Blues Authority as this is rock rather than blues??? It's probably to piss off all the blues police dudes.

Good stuff.
I have John Norum's 1st solo record and a couple tracks from the 2nd (w/ Glenn Hughes).
He's a great player and singer, too.

Nice one. Norum's always been one of the best around, he's probably the truest successor to Michael Schenker's throne as the king of melodic hard rock guitar. Good singer, too. And yeah, I love Hughes when he holds back. One of the best voices in rock, but one that needs to be restrained to be truly effective.

That's a great album!

John Norum is often overlooked in the spectrum of ripping rock/metal players. I really enjoyed the Don Dokken solo album Up From The Ashes that feature Norum and Billy White on guitar.
