    Evening all...

Well I am off to see the new Mad Max at the local IMax (2nd biggest screen in the UK, come on!)

    Anyone with me?

The reviews are quite amazing...(and more than a little surprising!)

The reviews so far are universally excellent, which I am surprised about. I may have to see this one.

Wow.... 77 reviews at Rotten Tomatoes and only one is rotten... sitting at 99%... that is amazing.

I wasn't that excited to see it, but I think the reviews have me wanting to try it. I was only a fan of the first movie in the original series.

    Tomorrow...12 noon matinee..3-D....
Going with the same 'zoo crew' I went to see 'Fury' and all the Jackass Movies with.
Tubs of pocorn...large drinks...last row in the back of the theatre...

Just look for the bunch of old guys wearing the pinwheel beanies.

That surprised me too. 81 reviews so far and only one rotten. 20 fresh among the Top Critics.

I'm definitely going to check it out. I've been a fan since the first movie and The Road Warrior is in my top 10 favorite movies of all time.

No interest, the original worked because of it low budget, it looked like things were rigged from a bunch of parts. Even the last 2 were too high tech.

Actor portraying "Toecutter" in the original is the VILLIAN in Fury Road.
    I'm in.

The movie looks awesome however one complaint before seeing it:

In the trailer there were a few really beautiful gals. They all had nice cuts and the hair was really clean. I dont know what the plot of this post apocalyptic movie is but unless there is a salon on every corner people wont look this good/clean.

Small detail but this sort of thing bugs me.

-I am however, REALLY happy the movie is getting good press, doesnt have Mel and was not a half assed effort. I cant wait to see it!

I just watched the other trailer and take back my previous comment about the women looking too clean/beautiful for the reality of the situation. I think the 'beautiful and clean' women were part of a concubine for the antagonist.

It's central to the plot from what I've read.

The reviews for this movie are so over the top good that I'm really excited to see it.

No, The Transformers series are mindless action flicks...

Sure, it's not La Regle Du Jou or Le Quatre Cents Coup...but it follows in a tradition of great action movies, and in its earlier incarnations set some of those traditions in the first place ..

In other words, it's a hoot.
