The gold pickup covers is kind of over the top.

Nope... don't do that.... it would be too easy. Besides, I don't want to ruin the beautiful vision of your guitar that I have imagined in my head

Not on a strat, they just have a utilitarian kind of design that gold hardware doesn't really complement. Nickel all the way. Gold hardware only goes with certain few guitars without looking gawdy in my opinion.

Visualizing your guitar, as goldtop with gold on top of gold covered with gold... sounds gawdy.
But it's your guitar, if you like it.

I assembled an all black strat with all gold hardware. It looks awesome. Yours probably will too.

I'd post a photo but the dang thing is nearly impossible to get a decent picture of.

Um, why ask if I think it looks good? It's totally subjective. What do you think?

It could look good. Mary Kaye Strats look great with gold hardware and they don't look so good with nickel or chrome.

Gold wears off badly. Some hate that. I dig it.

One of my guitars has gold hardware and there's a little finish coming off where I rest my hand on the bridge. Instant added mojo, and the gold looks amazing.

I cant stand any gold harware on any guitars - be it electric or acoustics - some love it and that's cool too.. i do love my DJ goldtop though

Can't stand gold hardware. Seriously, it's a deal breaker for me.
But if you think you'll dig it--go for it!

I'm not wild about gold hardware, but my first and only PRS is a CU22AP, so it's certainly not a deal-breaker and is a fantastic player.

What's important is whether you like it, and it seems that you do, so power to you...
