I just clicked on to Cliffs' site www.destroyallguitars.com , and saw one of the most amazing handcrafted instruments I have ever seen, the Goldbug Lenore. He is now producing guitars exclusively for DAG and Cliff sez they play better than they look. He ranks them in his own "Hall of Fame" of tone and playability. Everything on the guitars is handmade, including the Bridge, saddle, tuners pickups.

I dont know, some of it looks gaudy. The bridge and especially the tailpiece look cheesy. Don't like the knobs or the 3 way either.

Like the top, the pick up covers and the case and shape of the guitar a lot though.

The other Goldbug on the site is fugly, in a bad way. Couldn't imagine anyone playing that one.

Yeah, the top's my favorite part, with the headstock (cloisonne?) a close second. I'd be curious what it weighs.

Got to play it at NAMM. A truly beautiful instrument. Excellent craftsmanship. Hand rubbed lacquer finish. Unique tailpiece that allows individual tensioning on each string. However, it was definitely heavy. I'm guessing in the 11 lbs. range...

They also had a western motif version at NAMM in a deep walnut color with fringe and a six shooter attached tot he bridge. Cool stuff-kinda reminds me of the Jesellis that Keith Richards had back in the early 80's.

Looks like just another "me too" design. All everybody does these days is clone, clone, clone...

NOT!
