1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

I wouldn't pay half that. All original? Including the hideous blue pickup covers and ugly blue paint? I don't think so...

Doesn't matter it sold.....Some don't like CBS series strats..Personally i think the color is fantastic ..It looks great with the maple neck..

Sonic Blue was a CS color in 79 ..I had one so i would not think it is that big of a stretch to think it was available the previous year..But i seriously doubt the pick up covers where standard Fender....

Said the internet armchair expert who has likely never owned one! :D

That color, pickguard and pickup covers are not original. Sorry.

No. It isn't "all original" by any means.

Hendrix died in 1970 so don't think he ever played one from the late 70's

Jimi died in September of 1970.

What might he know about a '78 Strat (if that's what it is)?

So what? The early-CBS era from 1965-71 are still highly regarded instruments and have little in common with the late-70's stuff, the turning was 1972 and thereafter with the advent of 3 bolt necks and thick poly finishes and inconsistent everything.
