    I wouldn't pay half that. All original? Including the hideous blue pickup covers and ugly blue paint? I don't think so...

    it should be easy to check if that blue was a factory color in those years. i have never seen one before in that color

    Doesn't matter it sold.....Some don't like CBS series strats..Personally i think the color is fantastic ..It looks great with the maple neck..

    Sonic Blue was a CS color in 79 ..I had one so i would not think it is that big of a stretch to think it was available the previous year..But i seriously doubt the pick up covers where standard Fender....

    That color, pickguard and pickup covers are not original. Sorry.

    Hendrix died in 1970 so don't think he ever played one from the late 70's

    So what? The early-CBS era from 1965-71 are still highly regarded instruments and have little in common with the late-70's stuff, the turning was 1972 and thereafter with the advent of 3 bolt necks and thick poly finishes and inconsistent everything.
