Anyone have suggestions for a good Dumble-esque pedal ala Robben Ford?

Hermida Zendrive via Lovepedal. It's what Robben uses.

    Mad Professor Simble.
Cleans up better than the Zendrive when you turn down your guitar.
Sounds good on a strat neck pickup. The Zendrive doesn't.
    It's cheaper too.

I fourth the zen drive ... However there is a builder on eBay that makes a clone that is identical. Thought I'd mention it because the zen drive prices are a bit out of hand.

Yea the KO Amps Zen clone. The builder is a really nice guy. It's spot on with more gain and small enclosure.

There's literally dozens of these on the market now. Seems every builder is doing their take on the Dumble tone. I've played almost every one since Brian started the whole thing back around 1999 with the Howie. The Dumbloid is really good. Absolutely nails Robben's tone.

The small green Hotone Grass looks cool and it's inexpensive. Anyone have any experience with one?

Dumbleoid. I heard Robben's Dumble up close and personal not too long before standing next to a guy at NAMM playing the then little known Dumbleoid through a Friedman amp. It gave me flashbacks to Robben's concert.

Ok it's crazy expensive, but you didn't mention price so thought I'd go in a totally different and insane direction than everyone else.

All you can do is try 'em and see what clicks. I recently got a Zendrive clone after listening to James McMurtry's awesome Zendrive-driven tone in concert. Didn't do a darn thing for me. Sold it to a friend, who's absolutely in love with it.

For years, I've sworn by my HAO Rumble Mod, which is sort of a redheaded stepchild among Dumble pedals. But for me, the Rumble Mod is magic.

In other words, ymmv. There are lots of great Dumble-style pedals out there. Try them and see what works.

The owner of KO Amps is a member here, 'Kinda Fuzzy'.
Love his (Zen) Koi for Robben Ford tones.

I think you should do what most of these Dumble tone seekers do, and go through every pedal that says they have the Dumble thing going on. Play the dozens of pedals. But them sell them trade them. It's half the fun. I'm sure after years of searching and thousands of dollars spent....the arguments would still be the same and the tone seeker will still be seeking "the tone". It's a vicious, and I mean vicious cycle. 2cents

It is the "grass" and yeah, I have one. It is really good for the price, but there is something about the mid range that feels like it needs just 1 more knob to get the tone right.
I do like the pedal a lot, but I gotta keep searching ya know. Not sure when my next dumble pedal purchase will be, or which one it will be, but I know I've got the fever......sigh......and the only cure.......... Is......

I don't always go for the Dumble thing, but when I do I like the Simble a lot.
