Peter Taylor at Chellee Guitars is very good. He's on the web. Just query Chellee Guitars and the contact info is there.

+1 for Bird Dog. Hours and location are on his website.

    Great amp work, too.

There's also Billy and Doug at the Guitar Factory if that's closer to you. Good luthiers. http://www.guitarfactory.us/

+1 on the Guitar Factory - they did a great headstock repair for me that has lasted years with no issues.

I've had work done by the 3 that are listed. Guitar Factory usually has a big backlog but are very good. Bird Dog used to work with John Buscarino who recommends him highly. I keep going back to Bird Dog.

I would recommend Kip Elder. (http://www.starrguitars.com/)

He does setup work out of the Guitar Center on Lee Road.

I know a lot of people recommend Guitar Factory but in my experience they messed up my PRS when I had taken it to them for a simple pickup switch. It has never been the same since. I gave it to them with super-low action and 9's on it and it came back to me with mile high action and 12's on it. They said they didn't mess anything up and refused to fix it. I think that someone took it out and played it.

Oddly enough, the same thing happened to a friend of mine. She took a Taylor acoustic-electric there for some fret work and they messed up the electric pickup when they removed the bridge. I'm no luthier but why do you remove an acoustic's bridge to do fretwork?
