I have a vintage 30 in my Rivera, but notice that the low end becomes flub and mud when adding distortion pedals. What might be a good speaker to put in there for a tighter bass response?

why do you think it's the speaker?

assuming the cab is not at fault, my bet is it's not a speaker issue.

have you tried a different cab with the same pedals and amp? I've got a feeling the pedals are the culprit
