The wonderful Mr Thorn finished up my new guitar yesterday...

I'm still in shock at how it turned out and I've still only seen it on-screen. Some details: 1-piece mahogany body, mahogany neck, brazilian fingerboard, WCR Fillmores, V/V/T with push-push for phase and tap. And as is usual on a Thorn, there was a typically daft customer request: recessed wood pickup rings. Ron was unfazed as usual.

The only bad news is the typical US-UK shipping and Customs Clearance time :(

Congrats on another fantastic Thorn. That is without a doubt the most amazing piece of mahogany I ever seen on a guitar.

Maybe (probably) I'm just old and cranky, but the work of many Boutique builders often fails to really impress me very much. Thorn is the exception to that however. Amazing materials, craftsmanship, and innovations that are unique and player friendly without being a gimmick. Enjoy it!

Thanks guys. Oh, and it's all Chiba & TGP's fault. :)

I'd posted here ages ago asking for suggestions for a 2xHB DC guitar (my LP DC Standard has 24 frets). Chiba gave me Ron's Web site address and the rest is history. :D

I said it on TNDP and I'll say it here - that's one incredible guitar - I've never seen mahogany like that before. Enjoy it and congrats! :AOK

Thanks, all. When that FedEx truck pulls up outside, I'm going to be at the truck's loading door jumping about and yapping like a puppy. :)

Better watch out though, if he sees you are excited about it, he might drop it off the back of the truck! lol I said it as well on the TNDP, that piece of mahoghany is simply crazy man, Ron always scores the best wood for his customers (myself included!) :AOK

Wow. Everytime I see one of Ron's latest guitars I think to myself, how can he top that, and then I say the same thing again when I see the next one. :)
