There is one that the builder recommends, but I can't for the life of me remember the name. With this, most pedals sound good thru my MkII

Richard likes the creation audio labs mkIII boost...

I love the Keeley katana...

I mostly use boosts and fuzz...

What kind of sound do you want? The goodsell is a great platform for pedals and I haven't had 'issues' with any dirt pedals before...

But with such great distortion built in I see no use for anything other than a few good flavors of boosters

I have not found a dirt, boost, or fuzz pedal that did not work well with my Super 17. I would highly recommend an Analogman Astrotone and a TIM. The perfect combination for this amp.

Just bought a Goodsell Super 17!!! Was wondering what dirt pedals go REAL well into this amp?

The Creation Audio Labs' Mk 4.23 is a clean boost, which I still use and love. Most OD pedals work great with the S17; my personal experience is with a TS-808, Keeley-mod Blues Driver, ZenDrive I, and several Wamplers - but it takes pedals extemely well

I've had my super 17 with two 10"s for about 6 years. I run it w/ a little hair - usually around 9 or 10 o'clock vol and gain (roughly). Mostly using strat w/ Fralin PUPs. I think it's a great platform for all* ODs and fuzzes. I use(d) Xotic AC, RC (fantastic), and EP boosters, Barber Small Fry, Fulldrive 2, and Analogman KOT V4 (standard) and think all sound great w/ amp (well, I sold the Fulldrive but that was love loss w/ the pedal not the amp and pedal). *I did notice a harsh, unpleasing underlying sound from the KOT a few days ago w/ my 17. Very distinctly there but when tested a different day no longer an issue or through my Twin the same day. Suspect I just had the volumes, tones, gains, etc. all set up at a point where didn't play well together. So, in short, it's possible for the KOT and Super 17 to not always harmoniously meld. Regardless, KOT remains main OD these days live.

It also sounds great w/ my fuzz pedals (TB MKII (germanium), Fuzzy Lady (germanium fuzz face), and Diamond Fireburst (silicon)).

I honesty didn't prefer any pedal with a mid-hump with this amp. I love boosts with the 17. I ended up with a Timmy and a Alpha Dog, which is a Rat clone. This set-up works really well with me. I also use a Bone Machine which kills with this thing.

I use a Tim and Fulldrive 2 with mine and it works great. Out of the two though, the Tim gets 80% of the play time because of how much amp mojo it retains when on.

pedals - so many tried, so many have been nice!

it loves clean boosts, the Klon does work very nice w/ this amp - really
exceptional w/ single coils - and I've tried many others to try to save $$ (well not the creation...)
That's why I haven't needed a bigger amp- the Klon. (and a Sennheiser e906)

And having tried many many OD's - the OD side of the Jester
was absolutely the best as a platform base, so I'm going to try a Jouster to get 2
ODs in one pedal. Add a minibone and/or a germanium fuzz - done - stick a fork in it.

Treble boost (beano) amazing w/ a 335-type guitar - thats about all I need w/ that -
or no pedals at all. One can experience synesthesia this way - the colors sound phenomenal.

Tim has been mentioned a few times in this thread...I agree. If you wanted to begin using pedals with the S17 I think the Tim is a great standalone because, 1) doesn't color the tone, 2) can tweak bass/treble, 3) can be used as cleanish boost to pretty heavy overdrive, and had switchable extra gain channel for 2 drive settings. If you want a different tonal color than the S17 dishes out, you need something else.
