I'm looking to GoPro Hero camera mounts for on the guitar. What are you guys using for videos that don't leave any scratches or sticky stuff behind?

my Ricoh action camera has a strap held mount available for those slotted bike helmets that could possibly attach to the headstock, When Dweezle had the camera on his guitar it was a small Sony I believe and it looked like it was maybe Velcro strapped on

    I just bought this:

But I saw where one person made one out of a capo and some tape:

I also got an external mic adapter for the GoPro and will try and do some tests with the setup this weekend.

This is sort of what I'm after for the headstock sands the sticky stuff. Also, like to find mounting to the body.

Those clip on types are cool but way overpriced. I like the capo idea :aok

What you show is using the removable instrument mount.

Right, but I was wondering if something is out there like it that doesn't use an adhesive.

Well, then I would go to Lowe's or Home Depot and browse the "clamp" department.

The problem with the capo/clamp idea is that you'll have a vertical video unless you have an articulating arm to rotate the camera.

    Talk about an "ugly headstock."

It would be an improvement if it covered up one of them 2015 Gibson silly signatures :D

Anybody have any issues with the adhesives. I mean... It could be ok, but I worry too much.

Been too scared to try it. I used the suction cup thingy on an acoustic and it left a mark...

A friend of mine rigged up his GoPro for me to use at a show with a capo and rubber bands, I could feel the cam moving a bit when I moved so I got some tape from the sound crew and added it around the capo and it worked awesome.. I have since bought one of the clamps above to use next time..

I could have turned the view right side up rather than laying back like this but I like the way it looks. Kinda artsy, with all the lights and stuff.. Next time I want to turn the camera and see my fretboard better.

This is what the camera looked like on my bass:

From what I tell, it does look like the same 3M Commander stuff that is used for hanging holiday decorations. The 3M stuff doesn't always come off cleanly.

Cool video. I don't notice any shake. I would want more of me fingering the fretboard though. With the tilted headstock and close mount, you miss that.

Thanks.. It doesn't shake because I added tape before we started recording.. Seeing more of the fretboard is why I bought the new mount with a clamp.

For what it's worth, I just bought an external mic for my gopro and there is a significant difference in sound quality. I think it was the stereo sony one. Mic and adapter cable were under 30.
