What's your experience? I know people put them in ported 1x12 cabs.. I know Bonamassa uses them in his 4x12s..
How are they in, say, open back 2x12? In what cab do you use them?
    Share your thoughts!
    Cheers,
    Michal

I actually prefer them in open back cabs. The thiele cab just did not work for me. The avatar vintage (both 1x12 and 2x12) rendered so much more bottom end with the EV-12L's. But then, I'm not playing in huge halls with large stages, so projection isn't critical to me.

Have tried them in several different configurations.
The one I use all the time is an Avatar G112 with the rear oval port. Driven with a Fender style head it sounds really good. Surprising bottom when I use EH Microsynth. Plenty of power for small rooms.

At one time I had an EVM-12L and an Eminence Delta Pro-12a in an Avatar Traditional oval back cab. It was huge sounding.

If I were spending YOUR money, I'd get 2 1-12" Fortes. Sounds like the best of all worlds. I'd do foam donuts too

TL806 spec Thiele cab. Simply nothing better when it comes to 1x12 cabs.
