I am loving those GE McIntosh 6V6GTAs, so I went back and bought 4 more. Now have seven total.

Latest scrounge rounds.....1 day in 2nd hand shops

Pair of RCA 6V6GTA
Quad of RCA 6V6GT
Pair of RCA 6BQ5

matching date codes

Pair of RCA 5Y3GT
other: 12AX7, 6AU6s, OA2, 6SN7GT

We'll see how they test out...hopefully better than the usual 50% fall out

Scrounged 12AX7 tube shield even has a Fender correct 139 stamped on it

One cool vintage donor (we'll save it and fix it);
magnavox console with only AM radio remaining (no turntable), but it has the 6U5 "magic eye" green glow tube...looks good...12" spkr...coil antenna

Oh yeah, plenty of old 0.047 mfd caps for you cap47...big, brown, 600V 0.047 caps (tele) :) ...examples at various voltage ratings really....0.1 mfd caps too (strat)

Nice find! My source is a McIntosh Dealer and they also restore the older units. I guess they pull the old tubes and repair the units and resell for big $$$$. So I go in and browse their old tubes. He has tested them for good or bad and says to bring back any that don't work. For the past 5 years that has amounted to two returns out of over 100 tubes.
