I acquired a gold skreddy echo this week (thanks Min!)

This is a great sounding delay for exactly the purpose it is made for - tape delay sounds.

I would say one thing I have not heard mentioned, is how similar it is to the Mad Professor DBD. They are not identical, but they both have a similar tape like progression of filtering to the repeats. I loved my DBD, and the skreddy retains that characteristic, BUT it adds a whole major element with the warble control, the trim pots, and loop.

A great thing about the skreddy is how it can add that saturation/greasy liquid thing to lead tones. The echoes blend well, and it can really get the Eric Johnson EP sound better than anything I have tried, for both clean and lead.
If they were a little less money and readily available I would like 2- one for big ambient sounds and one set for slap-back.

This is one item that really lives up to it's reputation IMO. :banana

I've got a gold one with some custom tweaks on order....cannot wait to get it.

One of the very best all around delays available imo.

Bjorn Juhl (designer of the Deep Blue) contributed to the design of the Skreddy.

yeah I noticed that on the site, so it makes perfect sense there would be some similarity.

Does the DBD have the limiter as well?

here is a clip I did with my skreddy echo, where I was attempting to dial in an Eric Johnson type sound, just and ambient delay that blends with the dirty sound:

it has a little of that saturation you hear in an Echoplex.

hey Lou, sorry I missed your question. I am not totally sure how the limiter is functioning in the echo, but the DBD has filtering, or 'tuning' to the repeats as they fade, so I assume that is involving the limiter as well. I really don't know technically what is happening.
The actual slope of the feedback/repeats on the skreddy is a little different, and the two delays are still significantly different overall, they both just have that aspect of a natural decay where the repeats change as they fade in a tape-like manner. (that I have not heard in other delays).
