I only had about 2 minutes to try it out before my wife and kids got home, but thats all the time it took to realize that this amp takes no prisoners

Even my amateur ears could tell that this is a professional amp. I can see why The Black Crowes use these. I only had the master to about 9 o'clock and gain to 12 o'clock and it thumped with authority!

I can wait to try my LP through this...

Sweet master by the way :AOK

Have an HG100 and the new DRRS. Dougs stuff is unbelievable, can't say enough.

You're going to love that amp. I think Doug makes the best single channel amps out there. If you want a nice OD with it, the Fulltone OCD really works well. I could get it to sound almost like my HG100 with it.

Oh, its loud as balls too!

I once demo'd a C80 in a large hall.......maybe 10,000 sq ft with 25' ceiling. I've never heard an amp produce such nice ambient room reverb. :D

Congrats on the purchase. I've just come into possession of a Custom 80 myself. What a huge sounding amp - the master works great. :BEER

The OCD, Sparkle Drive and Rangemaster type treble boosters all work well with that amp. Loves NOS 12ax7's as well.

I love the OCD with it but my buddy runs one of those Hughes and Kettner tube pedals with his and it kills too!

Welcome to the fold. I love my Custom 40 and Badtoneno is absolutely correct that an OCD will give you all the higher gain tones you will need and not color the amp a bit. I also use a HBE Big D as an alternate lead tone. Also if you need a good delay pedal I have found that the Flip Tube Echo sounds awsome behind the OCD or Big D and I used to be "my delays HAVE to be in the loop" type of guy.

Im loving this amp and Ive been through a few lately. The Rocca tone is BIG and open that cleans up real well. If I knew these amps were this good I would have bought one a long time ago!

Doug makes some great amps fo sho!

Yep you do Doug- I think it works great with your amps, Custom 80 or the HG100. Just run the tone knob down a bit- that pedal can get a bit bright even in the middle position. It does manage to preserve the great low end of your amps pretty well.

I agree it can be bright but just back the tone knob to about 10 oclock and your all good. Yes it does keep the bottom real well.

You are very welcome. You make a stellar amp and I coulldnt be happier. Also my guitar buddies are saying how much they like this amp and its the best one I have had so far. Yes I think you should try an OCD, its great pedal IMHO.
