Damn this thing is great. Fantastic mini univibe effect. Totally hand wired too. Extremely sweet.
[edit] - Removed comparison text. I'll let it stand on its own merit.

Jack, almost 2 years ago you said the Aquavibe was the best vibe by far, and said you compared it head to head with a Mega Vibe, saying the Aquavibe killed it and sounded most like an original. And it's about as mini as this mini-mega...what gives? When do you plan to sell it? Can you post some gut shots?

"Got my small megavibe!!!!! "

May I ask when you ordered yours? And how do you like your Gypsy Fuzz?

There is-full size brick shaped and almost as big as the original Univox. KR's are the best Univibe clones but a bit hard to acquire.

Got it used. If you look carefully you can see a paint chip and scuff mark. Same with the gypsy. The gypsy is the best overall fuzz pedal I have tried. Not exactly the same as a vintage fuzz. It's like a combination of fuzz and overdrive.

On a related subject, the fuzz in the wilson stoned grasshopper is excellent. I did a demo of it recently. I don't know if it's the same as one of his standalone fuzzes or not...

I have the big Mega vibe and like it a lot. I've been waiting . . . and waiting . . . and waiting . . . and waiting for my Gypsy Fuzz. It must be over a year now. In fact, I've got so tired of waiting and so desperate for some fuzzy goodness that I just picked up a used Mojo Hand Huckleberry fuzz to keep me sane.

JZ, I know you have had a lot of nice things to say about the AV and Ultra, so if you sold both of them and kept the Mega, I assume it is because there is something different about the Mega that keeps you coming back. Do you like the basic tone, throb, etc, better than the other two or do you find that you just like it better for the type of music you like to play??

Mega sounds more organic than any other vibe...it doesn't sound overly phaserish like some others. It sounds literally like you're underwater. It's cool.

The aqua is a little more modern sounding. It can definitely get the vintage tones and in a great players hands, it's a thing of beauty. Same with the ultravibe II. I like the ultra much better than the mojo. I thought the mojo didn't have the same throb. Or...At least the version I owned didn't. The ultra is a great vibe and I love having the chorus/vibe be available via footswitch but convenience-wise, the mega can be powered off a PP2 or Iso 5 whereas the mega is larger and needs AC.

At this level, all 3 vibes are in their own league. I'm just excited with my new toy... :D

That's what new toys are for! Enjoy. I sometimes think it's half of the reason I play guitar!

Listening to your old clips I always liked the Mega and AV, but the Mega sounded like there was a depth/warmth to it that made the throb just blend in with the notes more and become part of your playing (I hate the word organic when it comes to electronics but it does describe it pretty well). I had been on the fence about the smaller Mega because I wasn't sure it sounded exactly like it's big brother but maybe it's time for me to get on the list. I've also been thinking about a Hartman Flanger and I think these 2 pedals would complete my modulation section.
