do i need the BOR?
or is it the same type of pedal?
If you're still using the bluesbreaker, i would definitely recommend the Box of Rock. To me the OCD is a lot more transparent, but still with vague JCM800 tone/gain level. The BoR is straight up JTM45 cranked tone at low volume.
The OCd strikes me as more of a lead pedal, whereas the BoR is the rhythm guitarist's gift from the Gods.
I agree with re-animator, the OCD is way more useful as a lead/boosting pedal.
great. now i have a reason to buy another pedal .
thanks TGP !
Actually, I use the OCD as a rythm pedal. I think it sounds great. I run a sparkle drive after it to fatten it up a bit for leads. The OCD is a great sounding pedal with a number of good settings.
I don't know about that really. I always felt that the OCD was much better suited for rhythm - then again, I'm using a Blackface clone and the mid scoop might have a lot to do with that.
I use OCD v3 (HP-mode + Strat) for a mid-gain rock crunch rhytm
and Mi Audio Crunch Box for heavy crunch :RoCkIn
