    There's the rub. 'Popular'.

I listen to a lot of contemporary music. Its just that 99.9% of music made in the world isn't shoved down ones throat. Even if one never watches tv or movies or anything, can't help hearing who the big pop folks are

Dude --- Canadian awards (and funding) drools for this stuff..... You were so close -- had it been Arctic as opposed to Antarctic you'd have been golden.

Never understood the concept of trying to turn music into a beauty pageant.

I completely agree. I'm constantly seeking out new artists. Sometimes even "old" artists that are new to me. I'm not stuck in a time warp and think that only music from my generation matters. Nothing could be further than the truth. I just feel like we've lost our edge somewhere along the way.
Hollywood keeps putting out remakes, sequels, and superhero movies. Art needs to be Instagram pretty to be "liked", and music, in order for it to be considered successful needs to be geared towards the lowest common denominator and win awards that to me, mean nothing. My point is not to critique the winners or losers. It's to recognize that it doesn't matter either way.
Take a few of your favorite albums. See if they won Best album in the year they were eligible for. If they didn't, ask yourself how much you care, or how much it changes your perception of that album. The answer is likely "not at all". That's all I'm saying.

Without reading all 14 pages, Diana Ross blew everyone else away. Her voice is better than ever at 75!

I was surprised that he played well enough. I went to the Chicago Auto show yesterday with my kids - grown, but still my kids. My son streamed some Post and Travis Scott - must say that they share some similarities. I don't mind listening to it, even though it is not something I would buy.

No, "At Fillmore East" or "Caravanseri" didn't win best album, but I still like a lot of pop music, and a lot of things I heard on The Grammys last night. Did I like it all?...no...or like it all equally?...no...but the thing is...if you ignore it all (things were better before)...just ignore any new music...then you don't even get the chance to hear things you actually might like.

Silly me, I thought it was 'Malone'. lol
So this kid took his last name, made it his first name........ then decided he would take the first surname he saw on a gravestone while getting high in a cemetery and use it as his??
