Stealer's Wheel "Stuck in the Middle With You" came across the XM wire today and I was digging the acoustic guitar rhythm parts. I enjoy pulling out my Taylor to play along with some of these classics.

What are some other great songs with acoustic rhythm parts? I can think of another one that is the quintessential acoustic rock song.... let's see how long it takes to get it posted....

I just noticed the Steeler's Wheel tune, My Sweet Lord, and Proud Mary: sorta have the same rhythm gtr strumming.

Guilty pleasure. Fun to pick up an acoustic at someone’s party and start singing loud. Be THAT guy.

    Great choices.

Note: Two are finger-plucked rhythms. One is a fast-strummed picking rhythm.

When you dive into Bossa Nova - the music cannot exist w/o great rhythm guitars. That is the life-blood of Bossa Nova -- the rhythm guitar.

Voila - the first Bossa Nova record was nothing but rhythm guitar playing w/ voice.

60 years later - it still sounds young & refreshing.

Bit of a stretch but here is an acoustic cover of Joni Mitchell's "Harry's House" that I love.

Actually Joni played it acoustic in a very similar way on the 'Hissing' demos (really worth to check that out if you're fan of Joni Mitchell).
The guitar part performed by Todd Baker in the cover is fantastic and is great to learn. And I can't believe how well that British singer Laura Grimes nails the song.

Anything with Jesse Cook along with Chris Church, who is like David Lindley to Jackson Browne.
