Great Metal Rhythm Players

Glad to see Eric Peterson getting some love. He is vastly underrated, as is Gary Holt. Come on!

The guy was absent in the 90s, when most of these metal gods put out their worst records (Pantera being the exception). Exodus output after 2000 has been savage. The Big 4's output has been very ho-hum since the 90s.

Testament and Exodus have putting out great heavy music.

Greg Fulton: Znowhite (known as "Ian Tafoya" here), Cyclone Temple, Rebels Without Applause, recently did some work with Doug Pinnick.

The guy is a MONSTER. The most undeservedly unknown thrasher in the history of heavy music. And he makes it look easy, dancing and singing while playing crushing riffs. With Cyclone Temple and RWA he was the frontman as well, incredibly entertaining.

if you don't know him, you owe it to yourself to look him up!

Cyclone Temple...There's a band you don't hear of every day. Great, unknown thrash band. Their first album is great. Their singer had a lower range than most, with a lot of character.

Mustaine by a mile for me. How he can play an amazing riff while singing, like in "This Day We Fight," is mind-blowing.

Iommi
EVH
Rhoads

These guys built their amazing leads around some of the most influential riffs period.

I often thought of Rudy Schenker and Adrian Smith as the ultimate rhythm player's in Metal as well.

There are no slouches in this business. Schaffer, Hetfield, Van Halen, Iommi are some of my faves.

You omitted Bill Steer.

Have fun!
